Slower miles, 16 and 14 minute miles, were because of mud, not incline, but there was lots of up and down on this course. Mostly on fire road, but one very muddy single-track hillside section just before the turnaround, and of course we went through twice on this out and back loop.
Forecast was for rain, but it was fairly clear for about an hour. The course was a little muddy from earlier rain. Then before I got to the top it started raining again. It rained off and on for the next hour or so, but had stopped by the time I finished.
A fun day in the park. Enough weather to make it an adventure. I slipped and went down in the mud twice on the way down.
