Beer and pretzels at halfway aid station is key.
Sprinkling most of the day, Mist and fog. Soaking wet, but never really rained on. Took it very easy first 8 miles, stopping unnecessarily long times to adjust gear. Everything is different when wet.
Started taking it more seriously after Small Harbor, but still walking steepest uphills. Then the miles of downhill to the finish, wow. Felt great. Last 3.94 miles my Garmin said took 34 minutes. The last .94 was not the kind of steep downhill that the miles before were. It was gradual downhill, but 8:12? Come on. Good finish. Good time. Adventure.
