Notes
Great time with the Runagades. We rocked the placement field! The race report goes as follows:
"Back in Salt Lake for East High's 4th "Running of the Leopards 5k", 9 of us Runagades and a "significant other" Runagade swept the course again this year!!
They advertised this year that this 5k is the "Fastest 5k in Utah".
Organization is prime, and the organizers could not thank us enough for supporting East High. New additions to this event were timing chips and nicer shirts.
Most of us ran at least 5 pre-race miles and following the race, 3-7 more miles. Even so, a few of us had PR's. I may have missed or forgotten if someone PR'd. I will include what I remember..
Chris, with a time of 18:37, took 3rd in his age.
Drew, ran a PR time of 18:38, missing 3rd by 1 second. Great accomplishment by Pope and Drew who are in the same division. The 1st and 2nd place men in this division were so fast...16 minutes!
Luke, making a Runagade comeback after being away for about 18 months, had a fantastic time of 17:53, taking 3rd in his age. (The male winner was in the same division 40-44 with a 15:26, geeeezzz!)
Natalie had an awesome PR time of 19:44, 1st in her age and 3rd woman overall!! Natalie is back! She has been putting in some serious training down there in Utah County.
Marie had a great race with a time of 21:39 and taking 3rd in her age! Marie put in some serious pre-pre race miles as well as some distance after the race. She is so very determined and driven!
Phaedra had a fantastic performance with a time of 20:20, PR-ing this course by well over a minute! She took 1st in her age and 6th overall!! (Ed got some great photo shots of her whipping through this course.) Check F.B. She has also been putting in some good training miles and track workouts.
Suzanne ran about 10 pre-race miles and had a great race with a 21:19. She pulled away with a 1st place prize ribbon in her age!
Tiffany is back and running very well after giving birth to that beautiful big baby last August and ran a 21:17 taking 2nd in her age.
Last Runagade to report is myself, (this is too weird reporting on myself) I ran a 22:50, taking 2nd place in my age. I love this race and I really do love the 300 meter finish around East High track!
The "Significant Other" Runagade was Drew's girlfriend, Erin. This was her very first 5k and the longest distance she has run. She completed the whole course without stopping to walk. I can see a future Runagade Diva in the making....
