In the results I come up as Louis Dinuzzo because of a bib fiasco this morning.
Great showing for Team FreeBrady today. Got off the line quick but within myself. Colin and I ran side by side for the first two miles and there was a pack of guys right ahead of us. On mile 3 I pulled from csmith a little and gave a good effort on the downhill. Came through 5k in 16:34, only 6 seconds slower than my time at states this past February, only this time I was rocking trainers. Had two more guys right in front of me on the hill that I was going back and forth with and csmith was right behind me. At the top of the hill colin flew by and I tried to rally and had a pretty decent retaliation. Finished right behind him as Team FreeBrady's 5th man on the day.
As far as this race goes it proves one thing: Im doing something right. 17s per mile faster than last year (22:40). Im building slower and doing more stuff at an ET effort which is helping me with my running economy. Also wasn't hunching over when I fatigued as a result of finally caring about my core. This helped prevent me from hyperventilating, which has always been an issue when things get tough. Not today. A good motivator to keep me on track for the rest of the summer.
