Notes

72, 73, 73, 73, 76, 74, 73, 32 - Very rough splits that I tried to get from watching the video.

As Chapman said before the race, he would rather see us fail at doing something special than playing it safe. Around 1800 to go I was on Collin's shoulder and I could feel like that was the moment to go. Obviously, I never did. I convinced myself that it was too early in the race to make a move (even though I knew full well that we were not going the pace we needed to be going). The rest of the race followed that whole pattern. Me knowing that a move needed to be made but instead opting for a move that I kept telling that I would make later in the race. Fell asleep for about 600m in the middle that cost me my race. Plenty to learn from.

THINGS TO WORK ON:

-Trust in God, trust in me

-Stop being so conservative

-Just forget about pace and race

-Stay engaged in the middle part.

THE GOOD STUFF

-21 second PR from last year's wretched 3k's

-Woke up a lot better in the second half of race than I did last year

-Race never felt like it was just dragging on

-God has me no matter what

I know that everybody that ran a race, regardless of distance, has something that they wish they could go back and do differently. In the end, what is done is done and I am still oh so proud to be able to call myself a member of WXD. The times will come, its just good to be wearing a W on my chest again.

To God be the glory
