Notes

This was a gorgeous day for running. Cool and breezy in the shade, hotter in the sun, but not as humid as usual. I felt good running the whole time in running skirt (white), toe socks plus darn tough smart wool, sleeveless blue striders shirt (rubbed under right arm), sunglasses and no hat. Gu at 3.3m; was okay to go from, 6m hallmark stop where I took some salt with the water all the way to the 10.3m back at the 4m stop. Had another gu there. Then gatorade and water at Camp Barrett. No water was out at 2m when I returned, so had to make it from CB back to the house (about 3.5m) with no water again, and had planned to take a gu there. House around 15.8;got a drink, peanut butter gu, then went to finish 16m and maybe go 18m. Ended up doing more than 4m more, using the courts, to hit 20m. I was strong on the hills and managing my form especially from 18m on. Purposely to practice being good in the later miles of hilly marathons, like Boston. Wondered how I do that faster running in Boston from 16m to 22m, when its more steady up hills than this. I guess a lot of it is adrenaline and the crowds cheering etc. I saw a turtle in John Hansen overlook on the way back. There were gorgeous yellow roses over along South Haven I stopped to smell. Also wonderful wild roses, and bay laurel blooming a lot along 450. Great blue herons perched in the South River headwaters. Lots of pileated woodpeckers, blue birds, other birds singing on the run. And the smell of honeysuckle strong along parts of pinedale.
