Notes

I felt flawless. My legs just moved right. I think it had a lot to do with opening up my stride last night and running the faster mile. Today I could feel my legs reaching out ahead of me and pulling my body along. Each stride was so powerful and my upper body was super composed and relaxed. I was happy to clock some of my splits closer to 6:20 than my now usual 6:40s. I think the hilly days I've been running have made it harder for me to go faster on flat easy days. In Chicago, I'd rattle off 6:20s no problem and usually bring it down to about 6:00-6:10 for long runs. It's nice to still feel in that range for my easy days. With my higher mileage I've been forced (more a choice to avoid so much biking and the bus) to run to work along the bike path, which is basically flat. So while I'm a bit beaten from more miles per day, I'm getting back some of that easy run speed. I'll have to determine whether or not this is good for ultras, which will be slower and typically hillier. We'll see what Coach Andy has to say.
