Not a fantastic day, but not terrible. Winds out of the south so the first half was slower than the second half. I finally had some company at a race, which was great. Brendan kept up for the first 2.5 miles and we traded leads. Every time I would catch up he'd surge a bit and make it look easy so I really doubted my ability to hang on. About 2 miles in I think the front of my brain was saying nope, not gonna happen, but part of me was thinking that I could definitely do it if I could just throw in a surge. Luckily he started to slow right as I surged. by about 2.5 he had dropped back and I knew I'd win. I wish I had been battling him for a 15:10, but finished in 15:29.
