In looking back at this PR I see that I've beaten it about 5 times in workouts on the track, including twice in one workout (15:50, 16:11, 16:06, 16:28)

Tough course with lots of sharp turns to take the wind out of your sails. Started out a bit cautious and paced myself through the first mile in about 20th place. Steadily moved up into 6th place/no-mans-land for the last 2 miles. Should have gone out quicker, but I'm just getting the feel for racing again.
