It's going to take me a while to process this one. To surpass your A+ goal by 20 seconds is huge. Ran this exactly the way I wanted to. Just tried to lock in on feel and roll with it. Took advantage of the downhills and gave back a bit on the uphills but overall was right on the paces I was shooting for. Pie in the sky goals was to go sub 2:42 and I wasn't that far off. I don't think I would have gotten there even with miles 22 and 24.
Took gel just before the start and then at 8 and 16 miles. Just a mouthful of water at every water stop until 22 and 24 -- then I made sure to get a full cup in.
Not much else to say -- other than HOLY sh$t this was a fast field.
ETA -- maybe I could have run the tangents better???
