Notes

A good last training run on a brisk fall morning. Added in a couple bits at HM effort. I feel strong, and I feel rested. My foot feels about 100%.

I feel odd typing this. Before the Illinois Half, I was rueing the final build-up in the last week - everything was going wrong and I questioned why I could not just through a spot of periodization without major hiccups. Well, I feel like I have this time. Sure, there was the foot thing. And, sure, there were issues with the two races that I hopped in. However, the training has been really great. Workouts have been better executed than I've been able to do before. My yearly mileage already far exceeds anything I've done in the past. That is what I will remember post-race. All the morning solo training sessions, the temps cooling, the sun rising later and later, and finally, this last week, the leaves all falling.

I feel pretty confident going into tomorrow for a strong race. I set goals six months ago that I feel like are within my reach. I am excited to go out there tomorrow and try to achieve them.

Your fit and well rested....settle in and enjoy......dress warm enough at the start...you can always ditch a hat, gloves and shirt as you warm up.
