Notes

Spoiled by the weather two days in a row. I feel like this is what Gadz gets, but every day out in San Diego. Because the high calls for upper 90s on the weekend, Jeff wanted me to get my LR in today and I'll swap the weekly workout to this weekend. Think that was a good call. Legs felt good, was definitely nervous about doing 17, especially solo. About 20 minutes in, I passed some guy in Urbana and he was yelling, "LET"S GET IT LET"S GET IT, LET'S GOOOOO!" So that fired me up and kinda just rode that adrenaline for the next hour or so.

Tried to follow the Marathon Route as best as I could for the first few out to Stone Creek, but then decided to just keep going south. I ended up crossing over to the A Loop, which felt nice although there was a lot of farm equipment on the roads. Came back through Yankee Ridge and did 1.5 loops around Statue and headed back.

I wanted to commit to not looking at my watch because I figured that would be the easiest way to get discouraged, so once I passed Urbana, I decided to just go up to California and ran past Jordan's because I missed him. Looked at my watch right around there, saw 1:57 and was fired up and closed the last bit (~a mile) pretty quick probably around 6:30 pace.

I'm tired for sure, longest solo run I've ever done, but I'm happy with it. I weighed myself and saw 154.8 which is the lowest I've been since high school and I was 162 a couple days ago, so I sweated out a good amount. Going to take tomorrow easy, probably split it up into two runs to get some good recovery.

Man Coach Boemhke, you ran a lot of miles, great thing you didn't look at your watch because you probably would have gotten discouraged. When I start getting my higher mileage in then I can do this type of long run with you probably we can go an even faster pace. Who knows?? Great job
