Hottest day of the year so far, so wanted to get this done early. V excited because I got off RA responsibilities for last night and all day today so I did not have to wait until 9:30.

Met Jeff at Lake of the Woods, got a good warm-up in, a couple strides. Foot felt good and my stride was on as a result which was nice!

Just eased into this one today - The idea was be around 92-97% of Marathon Pace, almost around Steady State and progress to faster than race pace. Conservative start because of the heat, but felt very comfortable. The second repeat was the same effort, but primarily downhill until the last half mile or so where its uphill and ran roughly marathon pace. That felt very smooth, not much effort.

The third one was back out and I put a little bit more into it, still staying relaxed, hit 6:05 moving primarily downhill and then the last is just gradual uphill where I was feeling it a little bit, but just tried to maintain effort and ran 12:20. The fourth one I knew that overall I was feeling good, so just went same effort (I was ideally going to do the opposite of what I did on the third), but after a downhill easy 6 minute mile I just wanted to maintain. I pushed the last half mile and ended up closing in 5:58 which is what I closed the mile workout in the other day.

Very pleased with today's workout. I did a lot of running this week and thought I would feel more fatigued by the end, but overall I felt pretty comfortable and felt like I could have done another one or two at that last effort and been alright. Happy to have Jeff out there, we were keeping conversation for most of it until the fourth rep. Tomorrow will just be easy recovery running to hit 75 :)
