5 Mile Progression in the Arb. This was tougher than expected. I knew having the tempo in the arb would be slower going than the roads, but I did not think the first two miles would feel so tough. Started off with Justice and Payton. Payton fell off after about 1.5 after taking us through the first half mile in 3:02. Justice and I just exchanged the lead up until probably 2.5 where he started edging me a bit. Sat on his shoulder for probably a mile and evened it with him from 3.5 - 4 where it seemed he was feeling it as well. Thought I was going to get dropped at 4 mile, but tried to hang tough. Made it to 7k which is right when we hit the hill for the third time. Justice put some distance on me at that point, but I kept it to about 5 or 6 seconds by the time we hit 8k.
Overall pretty happy with this. Been putting in some good miles this week and with the lack of sleep I thought I would have a tough time. Knew this would feel about 10 seconds slower/mile due to dew and grass growth. Feel like if we had been on the roads we would have crushed this. Been a good 8 weeks for the crew.
