Terrible workout. It was cold(ish), and pouring rain. By the time I got my spikes on, the track was waterlogged with pools of water everywhere. After the first 400, my feet were soaked and I was just worried about ripping them in half from blisters. The first two 400's went fine and then all hell broke loose on the 800. The wind picked up more on the backstretch, the rain really started coming down and I let it really get to me. I was on pace to run even slower the second 800 so I just went back to the 400s. After the last 400, where I ran even slower and it started lightninging out, I threw the towel in.

Really discouraging workout. It is really hard to understand this (weather withstanding) because of last Tuesday's workout. I was running 800s with ease at a faster pace than today, but today I just blew ass. I haven't taken any time off and although I am eating a lot of food, it is not enough to make a difference in my running. I am wondering if last week is taking its toll on my body. My back has been bothering me if I sit in one position for a long period of time and I believe that all the time in the car sure doesn't help. I have a day of recovery until Friday's meet, so we'll see what happens. I am considering doubling later, but I also do not want to be an idiot about things. The weather for Friday's meet will be 89 and sunny... so we'll see what happens.
