I just felt sort of out of it this morning. There was nobody really in the armory, which was nice for running, but also kind of lonely. I really had to compartmentalize how I was feeling and try to focus on what I was doing as much as possible. I was only looking at my watch when splitting it, so it was just rhythmic. Legs felt a little tired, which I expected because I've front-loaded my week pretty hard. I feel like I'm working harder than a 31 on the last one, but I've also not done any speed so maybe that's just where I'm topping out right now. I'm not too worried though. I'm hopeful that I can still close like that off of an honest pace, but we'll see. Also, I'm not wearing spikes so I think the switch will make all of this easier and I'll get some more quality turnover. One month out from Club Relays, still have a couple more quality workouts, but it's closing in and I'm getting excited.

Not running at Urbana practice tonight.

I assume this workout is meant to be around 3k goal pace? If so I think it's time to take a big step forward next time you run a workout at goal pace - something like 4-6-8-1k-8-6-4 ladder at 9:15-9:20 pace seems reasonable given your fitness right now and you can work down the pace a little bit over the next few weeks. Right now this is good for pace comfortability but won't help too much when the race starts to get tough. Just a thought.
