Beautiful morning to run. Got up to help Henry and try to build off last week for myself. I am not quite in shape to run 6x1k @ race pace with two minutes rest, so I modified it to suit my need and help Henry. My legs were pretty tired from the hills yesterday, so after the first 1k where we had a hill, I decided I would just join with Henry after the hills. I was still getting the full 1K treatment on the flat section of the course off short rest (2 minutes) and then would run ~600 with a little longer rest (3'). This got me through the workout without really sacrificing any time and gives me room to build.

I am just hoping to use these workouts more as a kickstarter and as I get more comfortable with my base in October, I'll probably use a combination of racing into shape (Parkside/Sundae 5k/Kickapoo) with some threshold/steady state and really just focus on building a solid aerobic base.

I'm going to take it easy with the team later and really take it easy tomorrow, but today was a good step for me.
