wooooooo. Slogged through the first 40 minutes, was tired, knee was sore -- just tried to remove myself from being *present* when running and just churn it out. I stopped to use the bathroom around 40 minutes and once I did that I felt immediately better. Splits show that -- I was just chilling and felt really good and excited to run into Jordan and John.
Met them at the car, re-upped on Eucerin and grabbed my waterbottle. Waterbottle was like 14 ounces and filled with Tailwind, less than what Jeff wanted for fluids but I've never drank more than like 3 ounces of anything on a run. Didn't realize we were running so quick the first couple miles with John and Jordan, just felt good. Around 17, 18 I started tiring out and we were slowing down. I just wanted to finish up so I picked it up again and hit the last 4 at a good pace. Last 2 miles were two of the fastest of the run.
The goal was just to do 2:45 overall and focus on time, but I felt good, I got in 22 seven minutes faster than the initial goal and I felt comfortable. Tired, but comfortable. This makes me really excited about where I am at. I'm cutting back the next couple weeks to account for travel and racing, but pumped to see where the next 13 weeks of training place me.
