7x3 minutes at 5k pace with 3 minute recovery. On this portion, I finally loosened up. Much of this was into the wind, which was not as bad as yesterday. I felt the urge to poop pretty early, but it dissipated and I was able to focus on the workout. Ideally I would be shooting for around 5:15-5:20 pace on these, but I was just looking for an effort that would force me to be uncomfortable. I think I did that. After the first three, I realized how good I felt and was able to focus on that to carry me home for the rest of the workout. The last 60-90 seconds of each rep I would really try to work for it, but not beyond the effort level. I think that this is probably the best that I have ever done this workout in terms of how I felt overall and total volume. I needed a day like this after having two very down workouts earlier in the week and now I am re-focused on the season and on my next race (Trinity Relays).
