Great 1/2 marathon. Felt good from the start, but had to stop to go the bathroom - quickly - around mile 2 or 3. Probably only lost a little time - if any. Ankle felt fine, sore a bit during the race and afterwards, but no sudden sharp pains.
7:00 AM start - woke at 4:35am - 2 packs of instant oatmeal and glass of water for breakfast. Pretzels as a snack around 6:45. Chilly outside. Shorts, longsleeve tech shirt & t-shirt. Wore hat & sweathsirt until just before start. Gloves. Removed t-shirt around mile 2 or 3 - gloves gone by mile 5.
Took Gu at mile 5 and then half a Gu (espresson w/ caffeine - only option !!) at mile 9.25 or so.
Few hills on the course were unexpected and provide a real challenge. Well organized an alot of crowd support the entire race. Chestnut St. was reall fun stretch - crowds lined both sides of the street the entire way.
