These shoes just do not feel comfortable, but apparently, they don't slow me down. Ugh! Anyhoo, so had no idea what my strategy was, or my distance was, especially since it took me so long to actually get outside to run after getting up at 6:20. So I started out fast to loosen up and planned on slowing down, but it took a while to slow down, so I decided after two miles I'm gonna go to the 9's. Yeah, that didn't happen either. The next few miles I tried harder to slow down and run easy, looking at pace, slowing down, just to naturally speed up again. After contemplating my route, i decided to shoot for 15 miles. That means doing the Gold Country/Parkway loop (8ish miles) and adding on at the trail from mile 20, which means run down to 16.5 (3.5 miles) and back to the sunrise parking lot to home. now that that was settled, I stopped looking at the watch, started listening to music, and focused on feel and comfort. I was so glad to see the 16.5 mile marker, although I was still feeling good, like last weekend. Except this time, I had no desire to "pick it up" at the end. coming back it was much hotter, so I stopped at the water hole to fill up, wash me down, and gu. That costed me 30 seconds, but it was worth it. The Pretender came on the radio and I picked it up a bit for fun and that took some wind out of me. I slowed down for a while and then looked at the watch. COOL! I'm averaging 8:29! Then I looked at my current pace! Oh Crap, I'm about to hit 9:00, might push me over, so I piked it up in a quarter mile to get the lap to 8:33. By then I was sub 7 and took that home! Great run!
