Ok, let's talk race. Probably the first time in a year where I had a real goal, so it was cool to be nervous, felt like old times. Had a strategy. Try to stay around 8:30 first two miles and then start picking people off. I have a curse with the 10 mile, but after doing some training and losing some weight, I was sure this was a doable goal as long as I stuck with the plan. B goal was 8:24 pace. A goal was 8:00 pace. GPS 2.5 split paces were 8:18, 8:01, 7:48, and 7:42. 1:19:48, 7:59 pace. The cool thing was, I wasn't even stressing about the A goal. Once I knew I had it, I just focused on putting in race effort and would've been happy regardless. I'm looking forward to doing the C workouts now. :)
