Notes

13.48m on the garmin -- not the best on the tangents -- garmin not to good in the canyons either

So I got about 3 hrs of sleep on Sat AM after taking the red-eye back from California. Didn't sleep great last night -- no just excuses -- just some background. It was 38 at the start / 45 at the finish ... decent wind but is was mostly at the back. The first 7-8m are up and down hills in Central Park ... then flat for the balance of the race. I set my watch up to 1/2 mile splits so that I could monitor my pace more accurately. The only thing showing on my watch was my "interval pace" -- that's it. I was trying to keep it around 645 ... but allot of the early race was more like 630 pace -- maybe just a little too aggressive -- on the right day and 10 lbs lighter -- I could maintain a 630 pace through the half -- but not today. I was telling Dan that I felt pretty "stressed" from about mile 10 to the finish. Looking at me HR data below ... I can see that it wasn't in my head.

Anyway -- the "fat man" set's another PR with a 4+ minute improvement over my prior Half Marathon efforts. I also qualified for the NYC Marathon with a sub 130 finish -- don't know that I will race it -- might run it with friends or pace someone -- looking forward to some grub tonight

I had about a 1minute fade between my 10k time and my 20k time.
