I really tried to purposely run slow today ... i am aware of my right knee pretty much all of the time -- even when i am not running. Working on some more stretching and Michelle is going to help me again tonight. Having a good rest day Thursday will certainly help. My calves feel tight as well. I am thinking that the 16 miles from last Friday was too fast and I didn't spend enough time stretching and recovering properly -- maybe even icing the knee post run. I have 18 on Friday and i really want to target my pace slower than 9:00 minute miles ... I know that this is a learning process but the more I read and run the more I recognize that covering the long distances is far more important [and safer] than worrying about the pace at which they are covered.
