Notes

Running out of transition was tough. It just finished raining and the first quarter mile was on extremely squishy grass. That made finding a rhythm a real challenge. Once I got on pavement I realized my left foot was a bit numb from the bike ride. That took a couple miles to work out.

Realizing I went somewhat hard on the bike I tried to run sub 6:50 and hope for the best. It worked out. The deeper into the run the more I settled into it. I picked off tons of people and got passed by 3-4 fast age groupers who started behind me. I'd just look as far up the road as possible and work towards reeling those folks in. In the final quarter I had a couple guys ahead who looked to be my AG so I buried it to get past them and finished on the grass pretty fast.

1/35 AG & 18/414 for a top 4% run. The extra long relative swim distance for the Olympic distance means my strong run barely overcomes my weak swim. It's probably the tri distance least suited to me competitively.

Total Time was 2:29:16.8. Happy with that. 10/35 for AG and 56/414 OA.
