Dropped in at the last minute thinking this would make a good training run. Was only going to go for it if ideal conditions. Despite being in the 60s it was humid and the dew point was almost the same as the temp. Ran with another from MRC hoping to pace him to a sub 1:25 pr but he wasn't as strong as normal and was really huffing around mile 7 and after mile 8 I moved on and dropped the pace a bit and started picking folks off while trying to run fast but not make it hurt. It wasn't that bad running under 6:20. That's a great sign. Even dropped a sub 6 mile at the end to pick off the rest of the half runners that I could see. About a 90 second negative split despite giving up some time in miles 7 & 8. Felt just fine after the race and never have I run under 1:25 feeling this good. Goal was to make it a great workout and that was a success. Don't feel like I'll need to worry about recovering from this one.
