Tough race around Lake Q. 86 and super humid and windy. Stomach has been crap for running and wasn't much better before the start. Tough conditions all around. Went out fast. Two guys went up the road and I ran in a group of 5. Rather than try to hold a smart pace I just raced them. Tried to get behind one guy to let him block the wind but that never worked. Finally after 1.5 miles everyone in my group cracked and I carried on steady to the end. I was happy to have kept it steady considering the stupid fast start. So, some more progress. A dozen seconds improvement in a month on a worse day. I also think the course might have been 10 seconds long. I've run enough around the lake and enough races around the lake. This one seemed long. Can't wait to give sub 18 a go in the fall.
Didn't win AG because I was in the top 3. Instead I won 3rd and got a bronze (not really bronze) embroidered beach towel.
