Traveling to GA and realized we were staying a quarter mile from the Petersburg Battlefield National park. I had to cut across a field and cross train tracks to get there directly but it was easy enough. I then ran on the Petersburg Battlefield park. I used to run and bike here in 92 & 93 when I lived in VA. It was interesting to be back and run the same trails I had run on almost 20 years ago. I also went onto Fort Lee through a side gate to the woods and looked around for the first time in over 15 years. I wish I had another hour to run around. Saw 7 deer and had to dodge lots of horse crap on the trails. The trails were great, just fantastic, and I got to run on them as the sun rose!
