Boston #8 and Marathon #20.

Laid out an elaborately conservative plan to finish in 3:17:30 and was just 10 seconds ahead at mile 16. Kept to plan through the first couple Newton hills but the sun was out and everything bad about the weather was escalating. Going up heartbreak I started to feel nauseous, dry, had some chills, and a little dizzy. Not a good sign. Tested myself on the downhill past BC and realized the heat was going to have it's way with me and I needed to adjust to a respectable finish. Stomach got worse and popped into a porta john at mile 23 and took a seat. Came out as Candice was running by. Paced in with her. Think we kept each other honest. Otherwise, I'd probably have been over 3:30. Didn't BQ. Don't have a BQ. First time without a BQ since 2010.

Note to future self: Just ran 450 miles in the 3.5 months leading up. That's 30mpw with a peak of three weeks just over 40. Two 10 miler "tune ups" and no workouts. Did hit the long runs tho. 3:26 is a decent result for such minimal preparation. Next time don't get injured and actually train.
