Notes

Kinda late to the race. Couldn't get in to bib pickup because it was wheelchair inaccessible and had a long line. I wasn't going to leave William out in the parking lot for that so got one of the timing guys to go grab my stuff.

Back to the van, set the chair up, transferred William and back to the start with a minute or two to spare. Didn't plan for a warmup anyway. His shorts were bunched and we couldn't sort it out before the start. Never had time to make sure the front wheel was straight. We decided to start only after everyone crossed the line first. Had some traffic for the first 2/10 mile then picked up the pace. Unfortunately William's shorts weren't straight so I stopped to try to straighten them out. Then back at it and passing line of people. Passed George then picking folks off got slower.

The little hills were hell into the wind pushing William in that chair. Can't believe other people didn't bother to run them faster.. Kept pushing, easiest tempo ever. Front wheel pulled to the left the whole race so shoulders were aching towards the end from all the extra pulling to keep in a straight line. No runner support at all going down busy Salem St. Very dangerous and disappointed about that. Reeled in the last guy with a quick mile and to the finish.

Need to find some shorts that don't bunch up and are more comfortable for William in the run chair. One of these days we need to take a legit run at sub 40.

Gun Time: 40:56 (Seems very implausable that 182 people crossed the start in 2 seconds) and we passed 93% of the field.
