Notes

This was my first dedicated ride of the year that didn't have anything to do with a commute or a backpack. Was going to do a training crit but it was rained out. Just like when running races are cancelled I go out and do double the distance regardless.

I figured I was fit enough for it so I put on the 23 tooth cassette today. I've got no right to be riding so well. Averaging over 20 on rolling roads was easy. About 10 miles into the ride I went right by a paceline of guys on pretty bikes going 20-21. Clearly it's the rider not the bike. I've been focusing on running so much but days like today are a nice reminder of just how joyful a good bike ride can be. Many of you runners have no idea.
