Notes
Plan was to try to keep it under 6 minute pace. Some miles were easier than others. Hit the 5K split in 18:37. Mile 4 was a disappointment. Mile 5 was good. Mile 6 was hard, finishing uphill in the wind. I have to be happy with that mile split all things considered. Didn't have much left for the last .2 but used a couple groups as targets to pass before the finish. Held a steady effort throughout and really didn't fade. According to my watch it was a PR by just over a second. And I didn't think my 10K PR was soft. All in all just a steady effort and I had the endurance to hold it. Never felt on fire and didn't even feel 'fast' today.
Bizarrely even 5K splits 18:37 / 18:38.
Watch had 37:15.93 but official results were 37:17 which is rounded up. Old PR was 37.17.12. So, new PR by almost nothing.
