Third consecutive year running the Northcoast Challenge 5-mile.
Weather cooler (high 50s) with a little rain. Splits:
5:50, 6:05, 6:00, 5:53, 5:39 = 29:27 (old PR 29:53, July '09)
A nice race with good markings and deep field. Each 1/2 mi is marked on this flat/fast course.
Into a strong headwind for first 1.5 miles conserving. Out of the wind and into the park I cross halfway in 14:57 and found myself ready to roll. Caught Liz at 3.5M and worked together with her before moving ahead with 800m to go. Last mile in 5:39 felt great. Yeah.
Not sure what place I was but guessing 30th or more. Winner ran 4:41/mile pace.
MTA: results- 31st overall, 25th male, 5th in the 35-39 AG
