Felt pretty good until about 14km. Had to walk 3 times in the 17km part - was exhausted but managed to continue from then on. Was ahead of 2hr pace up to and including the 17km marker. Was out on my feet at the end of the race.

Didn't eat overly well: had breakfast, but a hasty lunch right before the race. Probably went out too fast and paid for it later on. I knew this due to the heart rate but my attempts to slow down obviously didn't work that well :) Heart rate shows I worked very hard straight from the start, in fact heart rate over the first 5km is harder than when I did my PB over 5km. Strange, from the excitment or dietry issue?

Garmin got some water on it at 14km so ran blind after that. It also said I ran 300m longer than the race.
