2015 EIU Walt Crawford Open
Hot all day long, and as a result Eastern shortened our race from an 8k to a 4 mile. Then as we were standing on the line doing strides, there was a brief lightening delay due to some storm in the distance. I don't really think the extra 12 minutes or so had too much of an impact. Got out well, and at about 800m, I found myself right off the back of the lead pack. Decided I should make an effort to stay up there and not take myself out of the race. Tried to just stay smooth an comfortable there. I was trading off places for a while with a few guys until about the 2 mile, where the race really started to string out. Moved up a few places from there and kicked down 2 more guys in the end so all in all a good race effort. I need to work on pushing myself when I start to feel tired and get used to that racing grind again. There were definitely moments in that race where I started to feel a little complacent. A lot of people looked really good today, I think it's going to be a great year for IXC!! :)
