2013 Illini Challenge
First race for the club team! Wasn't too sure how to attack this one. The club guys recommended to go out with them and see how I felt, so I went with that. We were out slow near the back, so I started to move up right away. By the mile, only Evan was still with me. Kept moving up and started picking off varsity guys, including a lot of the freshman. Ended up beating 4/5 U of I varsity freshman in the race, so I was pretty proud of that. Placed 8th overall, which was awesome! And I was the 3rd club guy, so the team seems to be really strong. Also, forgot my spikes in my dorm room, so ran this one in trainers too! Good day.
