40' Tempo
Solid workout this afternoon. Ran 3 big neighborhood loops and finished the last ~2' to get to 40'. Goal was to give a nice, consistent effort the first two loops and then push it a bit during the third. Felt like I accomplished this. Stiff wind was blowing straight in my face running east along Long Grove, so that kinda messed up the splits a bit. But the right effort was there. First loop (~2.2 mi) I was cold from the wind and felt like I was working too hard, but settled in nicely during loop two and felt smooth. Felt even better when I opened up a bit on the last loop. Felt like I could have run at least one more loop at this pace pretty easily, so I guess that's a good sign heading into the half next month.
Chaffed really bad during this tho. Worst I've had in a while. Welcome back shorts weather.
