About me: 
Last regular running in my mid-30s for fitness; started running again 6/29/2010 with the Couch to 5K program. My 2011 goal is to finish the Vancouver half on 5/1. I'd also love to travel to Maui in September and run in the half-marathon there.
Why do I run: 
fitness, weight loss, self-esteem, the challenge
Why I started running: 
I used to run regularly for fitness, up to 3 miles at a time. Over time, I stopped. Last spring, I saw a lot of runners out on the sunny days and wondered if it was too late for me to run, due to my age. My partner told me about the Couch to 5K program, I found podcasts to run/walk the intervals and completed the 9 week program in 9 weeks. Kept running 3x/week after that and have since run in 3 5K's and am now registered for a half-marathon in May. I believe I'll use the "Marathoning for Mortals" training plan for running that half.
