goal: 15 mi w/12M @ marathon pace; success.

Yes, I did this all on the treadmill. Jeannie first suggested we run together on the TM at Gold's when the boys went over their friends' to ride the trails in the woods. But we didn't have much time, so she decided to stay home. I had already mentally prepared myself for the treadmill, and my garmin was still charging, so I stuck with the plan. Plus, I figured it would be easier for me to keep a marathon pace on the treadmill than out on the road.

The first two miles were the warm-up at an 8+ pace, and I was worried because my knee was sore throughout. But as I started my third mile at 7:13, my knee felt better and my calve was feeling pretty good. I finished another graceful mile at 7:13, then kicked it up a notch to a 7-minute mile. I held that pace for another nine miles of my marathon-specific training, then finished the last mile at a 6:30 pace. It was a bit challenging but felt good. Then I was happy to start my cool-down mile at an 8:30 pace.

Wow! Really impressive workout, Frank! You are in awesome shape. Being able to pick it up to a 6:30 after 13 miles is awesome! Keep it going man!
