Tried an experiment to see if drinking espresso before running would make me faster and the results were inconclusive. I felt better than I have the past few days but not really sure if it was the caffeine. I do know that it made it so I could not sleep at night afterwards so I was super tired at work!! But I did this run right at sunset and it was GLORIOUS!!! The mountains were the most purple I have ever seen them and the pink clouds were reflecting on the lake. Amazing <3 People keep telling me that they see me while I run and they wave at me but I don't see them...gotta keep my eyes peeled I guess.

Quickie funny story: walking to work today some tourists stopped me and asked how to get to 'the falls'. There are like thousands of waterfalls here so I asked them which ones and they showed me on a map. I did not recognize anything on the map and I looked at the top and it was a map of GLACIER NATIONAL PARK. Ooops not sure if they had the wrong map or went to the wrong park but I told them how to get to the biggest falls there are. Lolz @ tourists

Notes on caffeine: I used to take it before some races - especially during track season when waiting around throughout the day would make me feel v sluggish. I've seen studies that say it's helpful for distance racing but I think it would depend on how you react to caffeine. You would want it to hit you in the middle of your race (think how marathoners have energy gel things) so you keep up the pace but if it hits you at the start you might just start way too quick and die.
