Notes

I talked to a guy in HR to try to figure out better places to run around here than just the hotel area and he told me he is "vehemently against running" and said trail running is not recommended because bears have killed runners here before (last year a guy got eaten and two years ago a girl was running and got her leg bitten, no thanks) and he recommends I bring both bear spray (bought some today) and a bear bell if I do have to run. Basically he said the only place I should run is hotel property which is not even a mile so I'm gonna find a park ranger to talk to that will maybe have better ideas. I think I underestimated how wild yellowstone truly is--I see wild animals everywhere I go which is super amazing and awesome but I really need to be careful bc the bears and wolves and bison etc could attack me. I am surrounded by actual wilderness.

Anywho my run was decent. Still feel super tired, ppl who have been here longer than me tell me it takes about 2 weeks to adjust to the altitude (close to 8000 ft) and get your energy back. Saw some elk, they have cute white butts.

How can you be against running. Also, imagine how cool it'd be if your log went like this: "easy 5 miles, drinkability 5.9/10, bitten by a bear, did leg strength."
