First time I’ve run 5k without stopping in 4 months. My fitness is ok from the XC Skiing I’ve been doing; it definitely helped. But not running for months made this feel like a full race effort (and HR would be consistent with a hard 5k effort). It’s funny that my pace today (8:40 min/mile avg) would have been an easy/recovery pace for me a couple years ago. Still, it is somewhat encouraging that I was able to run a relatively hard effort and maintain pace for 5k without having to stop or slow down. I even sped up a little as I approached the finish line.
