I really wasn't that excited for this but it ended up being pretty satisfying. Ran the DMR as part of USATFNE's July challenge with Matt, Ryan, and Dave (in order). I was feeling like 5 minutes was going to be a challenge but I think that was mostly because I haven't run on a track in a while so I didn't have any gauge on the faster end of my fitness. Warmed up, did some strides, and then jogged more because I felt like my achilles was tightening the longer I stood around.

1st lap was 74, my reaction was oof sub 5 could be tough. I felt like I had gone out significantly faster. Came through 800 in 2:30 but I was feeling like I could put a little more pressure on. Came through 1200 in 3:45 and knew I could close and be under 5. Ryan said I looked really strong over the final 200 and I was very surprised to hear 4:53. I didn't feel like I ran a 68 second final lap.

Felt my left achilles a bit during the 1600 but it wasn't all that bad. I'd like to start lifting this week and see it improve, otherwise maybe I need to consider doing something more drastic.
