Took JML's advice and did a broken mile workout:

3x

(800 @ GP, 45s

400 @ 3k, 200jog

200 @ 1500, 200 jog, 200 @ 1500

4-5min).

Felt great today! Not a very tough workout but still, legs were great. Did this in the morning with Taylor since he's leaving for Boston in the afternoon (he got selected as staff for the medical tents!). That said, I didn't actually run much with Taylor since he didn't think he was ready for this, but I did have him on the first 400 of the first 2 800s. Normally I hate morning workouts but I was ready to roll this morning. If anything I might have gotten slightly overzealous, but I felt very smooth and relaxed and just went with it. Makes me feel better after Wednesday... I know that I jumped ahead a bit to that workout and the times were worth faster, but it doesn't take much to shake confidence a bit on mostly solo training.

800s felt great, was even on the first and slight negative on the second, but on the third, without Taylor I got a little excited to start and then over compensated slightly (no biggie). 400s felt great too, tried to imagine myself in a 3k and run appropriately but maybe got slightly carried away. But L-O-L on the 200s... I mean obviously I wasn't sprinting and they were actually fairly appropriate for 1500 pace (now anyway) but that just goes to show how strength-based my training has been... 32s would be an effort right now haha. But, that's the point of this workout, get out of the GP-only workout rut and stimulate legs with some faster stuff!
