Nexton Cocoa Cup with Ronnie and a few of her coworkers. This one's always a fun one! Signed up months ago or else I wouldn't have done it. OFBOC convinced me to give it an honest effort.
Hey it is what it is! I think it's pretty encouraging all things considered. Wanted to see if I could get under 6 right now. Started a little back with probably 100 people in front of me because I thought would keep me conservative but it was just frustrating. Wasted a lot of energy that first mile I'm sure. Just kept working up from there. Eventually was in 6th past mi 3 but got jvkicked by two guys; considered trying to hold em off, tried for a couple seconds, but decided nah. Ended up being 6th anyway because they did awards by chip time like n00bs. Had maybe that extra 1-2% left in that last mile if I REALLY wanted to make it hurt but there wasn't much point today.
It's a good sign and a confidence booster. Wasn't sure if I could break 20 as recently as a week ago probably. I'll be rolling eventually. Everything held up very well.
