Saw my first SC alligator today on my run... Guy was probably only around 30in. but it still freaked me out a bit. Looked like a small log until I got closer and then I realized. Luckily I was still about 10ft away and he didn't seem to notice me at all. I imagine even a small guy like that could do some damage!
Anyway, as far as the run goes... WAY hot. Had second thoughts about 85 but actually not because of the heat since it's going to be a few degrees warmer tomorrow. Just decided I wanted to rest up a little and put a small break between the longer days. Actually I'll probably go 80 again tomorrow (2x80 in lieu of 1x85 as planned initially), kind of odd week but I'll take the miles as they come. I'll see. Did the Amazon loop and back on the power line path with a tiny add on for a little over 9, then 5x20s strides. Felt like I was gliding on those. Again conservation mode to start in this weather, then gradually picked up once I knew I could handle it, though never felt as good as yesterday.
