Notes

Checked out the West Ashley Greenway for the first time. Great change of scenery that made me nostalgic for RPI bike path/rail bed long runs. Awesome LR weather and felt great today. Ran into the wind for the first half so got a little boost on the way back. I rarely (if ever) see a sub 7:30 first mile these days so that put me in a good mood from the start since I felt extremely relaxed. Was itching to go a bit from ~5-7 but knew I had a lot of run ahead of me so made sure to keep holding back. Good thing too because I was fairly wiped by the end, but far from dead.

Starting from the W. Ashley side, the trail isn't particularly scenic and you have to cross (typically car-free) roads every half mile or so, but closer to John's Island the stretches are a lot less interrupted and the views are pretty nice. It's a little bit of a drive to get to and I've seen the whole path at this point, but I'm sure I'll be back at some point.

I know it was a big jump in weekly miles this week but I think I was smart about it. The icing and heating seems to be keeping things under control, and although I've been bad about strength routines, I've been very good with lunge matrix and walks before runs, and I like to think that helps too. ~5 more each of the next two weeks, then we'll have to see.
