GOT DAMN. That one hurt! HOT HOT HOT AF today, possibly hardest run here yet? I don't know, the miserable-ness all starts to blend together. Better be tough as nails by the end of the summer for how much this sucks.
Still over 90 by the time I finished, heat index over 100. Ran the same trail as the other day but opposite direction (just a few ticks longer due to a slight wrong turn), so the distance reflects that. Seeing what pace that give for today's time, maybe I was generous the other day. I did end the last 20 quick today since I felt I could (landmark that normally takes me 15+ to get to on the way out took under 13 at the end of this one), so maybe that brought average pace down enough, but I know I was going slow for a while. It's not for lack of effort of course... I really have no choice in these oppressive conditions. Getting used to it but just hard to give good guesses under these circumstances. So take it as you want, I suppose!
Oh also, this was totally the right way to go. Around 7 miles, I started passing signs on the trees that said:
"You're gonna go far"
"You're gonna make it"
"They're gonna love you"
"Fantastic"
"That's really what I think"
"Crank it"
