Kind of a funky day so here's the breakdown... Taylor wanted to run with me and I convinced him to join me on a fartlek but he only wanted to do up to 7 miles total. My plan was 2 x (4 x 3 on, 3 off) with a longer rest in between sets. Tried to time it so the between-set rest could be a cooldown for Taylor, hence why it's on the long side. When I got back to the high school, I wanted to do one on the track to get a feel for the pace we had been running, but decided to them all on the track. Each was >900m, but I was taking 800 splits on each to know pace on each... 2:38, 2:36, 2:35, 2:33 without really upping effort. Then was doing some lane 8 running for the easy portions so I had to use MATH for those distances so take it how you will, I'm not concerned with what the numbers say.

Anyway blah blah blah to all that, specifics aren't super important, the takeaways are

1. Despite not feeling great with Taylor, managed to come back and put down some decent enough quality stuff on the track well into the run, and felt really good doing it.

2. Set 1 pickups were likely slow, possibly 5:30 pace or so for the first couple, but was going by feel and working into it, since this is the first stuff faster than tempo pace in a couple weeks. GPS watch would have been nice though...

3. Clear track, approaching consistent shorts weather... YEAH BABY
