Hm. This pace seems very unlikely...

EDIT: Should have done the landmark method to know where we turned, changing the map just a little can drop the pace by close to 10s per mile. Not all hope is lost...

Ran with Steve and Rob... mostly. Rob took us through the first five, me the next five, Rob the next five...ish. Right around the turnaround point we hit a perfect storm of confusion. Rob continues to run past 12:30 to get to a landmark for easy mapping, but Steve and I turn around and weren't sure what he was doing (we called out to him with no response #loosecannon). Jake and Brian happened to be passing Rob right at this instant, so he thinks we're them for a second and we think he's switching groups for a second, so we go our merry ways. Durn shame. I led through the rest of 15 then, then Hammarman took it for five, then we basically went side by side to the end.

If that's what the pace actually is, it's pretty depressing. It felt like a solid tempo effort so I don't know what to make of that. I mean yeah, super cold air makes things tougher, and yeah, still slippery stuff here and there, and not pancake flat, but could that slow us down that much? Maybe... I guess... who knows...

I don't know, looking back maybe I did feel too relaxed...

Don't worry about it. I told Rob paces are probably 15-20 sec slower per mile than the effort indicated. Especially for the 5th day in a row of something intense for them. GPS crews reported slower paces than normal and a harder effort...
